Tantric massage: why breathing changes everything
Tantra is not about a quick finish but about holding the in-between state for a long time. The key is breath — how we work with it and what you can do yourself.
Most people breathe shallowly, with the upper chest, without noticing. In a tantric massage that is the first thing we work on, because deep, slow diaphragmatic breathing changes how you receive touch: tension spreads through the whole body instead of building up in one place.
The session
It starts with a few minutes without touch — the masseuse guides your breath and synchronises it with hers. Then comes a very slow full-body massage with long pauses. Only in the second half does attention move to the intimate zones (lingam for men, yoni for women), but the rhythm does not change: waves of tension are raised and dispersed, several times, without hurry.
What you can do yourself
When you feel tension rising too fast — slow your exhale. Breathe out longer than you breathe in, through slightly parted lips. It is the simplest technique and works from the first time. Second: do not clench your thighs and glutes. A relaxed body receives more, for longer.
Book a tantric massage for 60 minutes. Thirty is not enough to even get to the breathing work.
